My journeyI am a stay at home mum to 3 beautiful children, 1 boy (6 yrs) and 2 girls (2 and 6 months). It has been a challenging road converting from a full time corporate employee to a full time mummy. Before I had my son, my career was my main focus. I was so caught up in work that not else much mattered. Even after the birth of my son, I returned to work not long after and continued to put in long and gruelling hours at work. My priorities however did change. I found myself worrying if my son was having a good day, if he was warm enough or cool enough. I really struggled with 'mummy guilt'. All I wanted to do was get home to my son and spend some one on one quality time with him. By the time that I was due to have my second child, my husband and I had made the decision for me to stay at home and look after our little ones. Just under 2 years later, we had our 3 child another little girl. So I have now been a full time mummy for 2.5 years. I really enjoy being at home with my babies but at the same time need something to do to challenge my brain, hence the creation of this blog.
I have spent the past 2.5 years working out how to cook for a family all with their own dietary needs due to food intolerances. I must say, I was not much of a cook before I started this journey but now I have learnt it seem like second nature to make something gluten, dairy or egg free. Each day in our house is quite long and challenging with 3 children all with their own independent personalities and needs. I would like to share my experiences with other parents as I am sure that I am not the only one. |
About my familyMy husband and I met 8 years ago while he was currently travelling overseas. He had only come back to visit his family for a few short weeks before heading back to the UK. We met just 2.5 weeks before he was due to return. After a wold win romance, I found myself engaged and pregnant and preparing for motherhood. It was very scary, but a journey I will never regret.
My husband is a hairdresser by trade and I have a background in the IT industry. We have 3 small children, Mr B is 6 and so full of life and attitude. lol He was diagnosed with Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) just under 2 years ago. We have also spent the same amount battling with food intolerances. Little Miss 2 is bright and energetic. She amazes me everyday with what she has learnt and her new found attitude. She is a little tom boy and princess all rolled into one. I often find her outside in a pretty dress, playing in the dirt :) Baby S is almost 7 months old. She was such a challenging baby having colic and reflux. She has kept me awake most nights due to her being in pain. We have finally got on top of it and have now introduced her to a new sleeping routine, which for now seems to be working. |
